Who We Are

The people building Remedi.

Remedi is built by people who have done this work themselves — operators, clinicians, and engineers with decades inside hospitals and post-acute care. The founders set product direction alongside a practicing clinical advisor and a board that has managed hospitals and health systems.

Tom Tilley

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

Tom builds systems people actually use. That starts with getting the technical and business sides of a problem into the same conversation, and he has done that work for more than twenty years — first in banking, insurance, and logistics, and for the past decade-plus in healthcare. He has served as a chief technology officer three times.

His teams won a national AI challenge for predicting hospital readmissions, built AI and analytics platforms for large health systems, and led data and integrations for a national healthcare staffing marketplace.

At Remedi he sets product direction with his co-founder, the board, and the clinicians and engineers who build the product.

Dr. Richard Tarpey

Co-founder & President

Dr. Richard Tarpey brings more than thirty years across workforce, healthcare, and operations — from a 22-year career at HCA Healthcare to earlier operational roles at United Airlines — with a research focus on how workforce systems behave inside complex organizations.

At HCA he developed the resource-scheduling quality standard that became the foundation of the organization’s nurse-scheduling system, work that still shapes his research into scheduling, staffing performance, and workforce optimization.

His recent studies examine how accurate staffing and scheduling automation really is — and whether the people affected trust and adopt it — always from a staff-centered view of how those decisions land on daily life, well-being, and the ability to give good care.

He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Florida and an MBA and B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems from Middle Tennessee State University, where he directs the M.S. in Project Management program he founded and is helping develop a Master of Healthcare Administration program.

Dr. George Tavoulareas

Chief Medical Advisor

Dr. George Tavoulareas is a board-certified neurologist. Since completing his neurophysiology fellowship he has practiced at Brooklyn Neurology Associates, building a large outpatient practice while consulting for hospitals across Brooklyn.

As co-founder and director of the Stroke Team at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Brooklyn, he helped build, accredit, and manage the stroke program — and today brings that acute-care experience to Teladoc Health, where he delivers neurology and stroke consults under real time pressure.

At Remedi he keeps the product grounded in how care is actually delivered, and in where a staffing decision meets a patient.

Advisors

They’ve worked the floor we model.

Remedi’s board has managed hospitals and health systems for decades. A staffing call can look right on paper and still be wrong on the unit, and they’re the ones who know the difference.

Join Us

We’re building a nursing advisory board.

Remedi manages the workforce nurses live inside — so nurses should shape how it works. We’re actively seeking nurse leaders — DONs, CNOs, charge nurses, and educators — to help define what fair scheduling looks like on a real unit, what the fairness ledger should show, and where a schedule helps or harms the people working it.
